Program
Summary
In line with succession planning, each business within
CSR is encouraged to appoint graduates to the GDP annually.
The
GDP provides recent graduates with the opportunity to partake in intensive and
rotational training and development over an approximate two year period.
As a
participant in the GDP you will always be appointed to a “real position” with
responsibility and accountability.
Although you will primarily be working within your area of expertise you
will also gain exposure to ‘non core’ functional areas, allowing you to develop
a broad range of business skills and appreciate the interaction of business
units to achieve organisational objectives.
Each
graduate’s program will be unique, and although your project work is tailored
to meet the needs of the business to which you are appointed, your experiences
will also cater for and be shaped by your attitude, efforts and abilities.
In
summary, as a Graduate participating in the GDP you can expect to:-
C Remain within the GDP for approximately 1½ to 2
years
C Commence within your area of expertise
(university degree / major)
C Complete monthly progress reports
C Drive your quarterly performance review
C Stay within one CSR SBU or rotate between them.
During this program, engineering graduates can opt
to be assessed against relevant national competencies and professional
qualifications thereby providing an opportunity to obtain a nationally
recognised standard.
