The adoption of prefabricated housing components is disrupting the construction industry worldwide. CSR is leading the market in Australia with the development of the CSR Velocity system.
CSR Velocity consists of three elements which are manufactured in a controlled environment:
- External and internal wall elements
- Mid floor cassettes
- Roof trusses
The wall elements include structural timber frames, windows and doors and external wall cladding which allows for a selection of finishes including Hebel masonry system panels, Cemintel fibre cement cladding or PGH bricks.
The building system results in a construction time of just 18 days to complete the lock up phase – a process which would typically take approximately 60 days to complete. CSR Velocity’s system is assembled offsite at the new Ingleburn manufacturing facility. This controlled environment allows for increase performance and quality in the home with improved structural, thermal and acoustic properties. The system also brings a number of safety, quality and sustainability benefits as homes are built faster, require fewer tradespeople and minimise impact of the building process on the surrounding communities.
