Encouraging employees to keep physically active

Being physically active can reduce the risk of chronic disease and obesity. Unhealthy living and low levels of physical activity, including sitting for long periods of time, are likely to be attributable to the increase in preventable disease and workplace injury. An initiative to address inactivity is provided.

CSR employees are given the opportunity to participate in the Virgin Pulse Corporate Challenge, a 100 day challenge.  Team “All Fired Up”, from PGH Bricks, Schofields were first to cross the finish line in 2017 with a total daily step average of 20,398. In November, Rob Sindel, Managing Director and Nick Pezet, Executive General Manager, PGH Bricks presented the team with their winner’s medals. As a comparison, the average daily step count for CSR as a whole was 11,386 steps. Well done All Fired Up.
