Be aware of asbestos when renovating

If you are renovating or making changes to your existing home – particularly if it is over 30 years old, you must be aware of asbestos.  It is important for homeowners and renovators to be aware of how to safety manage asbestos in and around the home.

If you are not sure if there is asbestos in your home, you can have it checked by a licenced asbestos removalist or assessor.  There is significant amount of information available on the safe handling and removal of asbestos.  For more information visit:

CSR’s historic involvement in asbestos 

CSR’s involvement in asbestos mining and manufacture of products containing asbestos ceased in 1966 and 1977 respectively. While CSR has not been involved in the manufacture of asbestos for over 40 years, we recognise that the product is still found in the environment.  For more information visit:

Since 2010, CSR has sponsored the Asbestos Diseases Research Institute (ADRI) tissue biobank study.  This study is building a comprehensive nationwide tissue biobank which will help researchers better understand the biology of the disease in an effort to achieve better clinical outcomes.  For further information visit:
